Children's Ministry

One generation plants the tree; another gets the shade.

-Chinese Proverb

Richelieu Valley United Church firmly believes that our young members are a vital and important part of our congregation. Our Sunday services and community activities therefor try to be as inclusive and supportive of learning as possible. Youngsters are encouraged to participate in "Children's Time" with the minister each Sunday morning (an interactive part of the service that typically includes a Bible story, prayer and question & answer period).

Our Children's Ministry Mission

The United Church of Canada's Children's Ministry Vision is of a church that  "... recognizes that children's and young teen's ministry must be owned by and integrated into all parts of the church community."

The congregation of Richelieu Valley United Church proudly supports and shares this vision. We encourage children to grow in their faith by learning new things, to respect all people regardless of differences, to lend a helping hand by participating in outreach events and community service and to worship the Lord in their own uniquely individual and special ways. Whether singing songs or making crafts, playing games or reading Bible stories, Richelieu Valley United seeks not only to spiritually guide its children but to inspire, motivate and nurture them.
