How To Give: Pre-Authorized Remittance (PAR)

If you have automatic debits from your bank account to pay for insurance, cable TV, taxes, fuel, or a mortgage, then you understand the PAR principle. It means regular contributions throughout the year that make it easy to donate to the United Church.

Download the authorization form and bring to church or mail it to the church office.

Community Garden

Our Community Learning Center is coordinating a Community Garden behind the school. Students are already growing the plants in their classrooms. There are many ways we can also be involved. See the bulletin board for details.

Camp Cosmos Donation Sent

Our donation has been sent off to Camp Cosmos. This year we sponsored 17children. This is down from our previous years, but still a great gift to many and a real sign of support for those leading the camp. Thank you to all. If you missed our collection you can still send a donation to them – there are envelopes for Montreal City Mission on the bulletin board. Cheques are to be made to Inner City Day Camp.

UCC response to Haiti

Local congregations across the country are doing what they can to support those devastated by the earthquake. In Montreal Presbytery, $31,000 dollars was collected by 10 congregations and presented to the moderator on Sunday evening, Jan 24th. Of course the efforts continue. Money given to the United Church will be matched by the Federal government.

To donate you can go to www.united-church.ca Praying and money raising will continue. Please join in whatever way you are able.

See the United Church on YouTube

While it may not be a traditional pulpit, for The United Church of Canada, it is a communication platform like no other.

In October, the church is launched its own YouTube channel, featuring a playlist of more than 20 videos with more to be added in the weeks ahead.

“Many people think the church is just a collection of buildings with steeples, but by using YouTube, we can show how active the church is, whether in a downtown mission like First United in Vancouver or through overseas partners working on water issues in Kenya,” says Catherine Rodd, the church’s Multi-Media Producer. “Our audience is the world and we want to add our faces and voices to the tapestry of people working for just change, wherever they are.”
